Achieved another 'lifer' tick during the holiday, when I saw Gannets diving for food in St Ives / Carbis Bay! Also.... Fulmars, Cormorants and Shags between Godrevy Point and Navax Point Wheatear seen near Navax Point Very confiding Juvenile Kestrel at the same location 6 Buzzards on the same thermal by A30 near Camborne Another Buzzard near St Just Sparrowhawk near Hayle Herring Gulls by the bucketload everywhere... can I admit a creeping affection for them? ( ![]() Little Egret at Hayle Estuary RSPB 5 Curlew at Ryan's Field, Hayle Estuary Grey Heron at same location Oystercatchers at Sennen Cove, Coverack, Carbis Bay and St Ives Harbour Robin at Trengwainton Gardens Rooks near Goonhilly Downs Lesser and Greater Black-Backed Gulls nearly everywhere Large Starling flock in St Ives Harbour Possible Siskin at Lelant Saltings Smattering of Black-headed Gulls at Porthminster Beach Swallows gathering for migration, Coverack All in all, a satisfying week's birdwatching! Pleased as punch with the Gannets; their diving 'sortie' lasted well over an hour! ![]() |
