The Eagle Owls at Dunsop Bridge over in Lancs in the Forest of Bowland are well worth seeing.

Both adults seem to show well all the time with the 3 youngsters showing now and then.

Dunsop Bridge has a large free car park, toilets and a post office with tea shop. The path up the valley starts behind the post office and is 3.2 miles but if you are lucky like I was the local police will give you a lift in thier range rover.

Dippers are on the river with Grey Wags and we had a male Hen Harrier over and Ravens calling from the tops.

The female is very aggressive ( typical ) and has already claimed 2 scalps, hence the police presence and the closure of the nearest path to the nesting site.
Dont take small dogs - they are just the sort of snack an Eagle Owl likes.

Pity they dont eat photographers that try and get too near!

All the above is now common knowledge despite the RSPB allegedly trying to surpress their presence.

A possible Eagle Owl (escaped?) had a dive at two Jack Russells a couple of weeks ago before it was frightened by the dogs owner in the Community Park just off the Lincoln bypass adjacent to Birchwood.

It had bells on its legs and perhaps had escaped from Whisby Garden Centre. I have heard no reports of it since

Can anyone confirm that 2 more Eagle Owls were spotted near Southport and Maghull in Lancashire?
