Post subject:  Red Grouse and Red-throated Diver - 08 04 07

Strines Moor S. Yorks - (0845 - 0945) (A57 goes the whole way from LINCOLN to within a mile of Strines Moor, c55 miles at 90 minutes early on a Sunday morning)
Red Grouse - c20 seen, several within 20 - 30 yards, perched on fence posts, calling, displaying in the heather, and in flight.
Curlew - 3
Lapwing
Skylark
Meadow Pipit

Welbeck Watchpoint Notts (10.45 - 12.00)
Red-throated Diver - reported bird showing very well on the middle lake, viewed from the roadside feeding station
Mandarin Duck - pair on grass seen from the feeding station
Buzzard - 2
