I got texted about a Montague harrier apparently moving north west through derbyshire last night ..seen at bolsover moor and brockley wood.A QUICK WORD with the fitter at work('big bird come all yours'), sent me to a viewpoint nearby(2 miles) at marsh lane, middle handley.A right mob were there already and it just turned up!Just there! When I was! What I wanted! When I wanted! The lads were scanning towards Staveley works and atmosphere was electric........dark skies,a factory belching smoke, the valley moist expecting thunder. It flew not quite over us but we had to turn our heads slightly!
Cracking banter from the lads when I said I,d come from lincoln on the off chance!
I couldn't sleep at work after that!
We've a warm front of weather tomorrow coming from the south west during saturday morning(the it becomes colder from the west).I wonder what that could bring?
