Post subject:  Yorkshire WT North Cave Wetlands 30/5/2016

Made my first visit to this reserve yesterday afternoon. After a cold and foggy visit to Bempton Cliffs earlier in the day, the weather at North Cave Wetlands proved to be the total opposite, with warm, bright sunshine making birding at this location a much more pleasant experience :)

Species noted included:

Arctic Tern
Avocet
Black Swan
Blackbird
Black-Headed Gull
Blue Tit
Carrion Crow
Chaffinch
Common Gull
Coot
Cormorant
Dunnock
Feral Pigeon
Gadwall
Great Crested Grebe
Grey Heron
Greylag Goose
Herring Gull
Jackdaw
Kestrel
Lapwing
Lesser Blackback Gull
Little Egret
Little Grebe
Little Ring Plover
Mallard
Moorhen
Mute Swan
Oystercatcher
Pied Wagtail
Red Kite
Reed Bunting
Robin
Sand Martin
Shelduck
Shoveler
Song Thrush
Starling
Swallow
Teal
Tufted Duck
Woodpigeon
Wren

A Glossy Ibis had been recorded earlier in the day, but had flown off by the time I arrived. Unfortunately, it did not return whilst I was on the reserve.

Regards, Jon
