Guided walk around Langford Lowfields RSPB reserve, just south of Collingham, Notts.
My first proper visit and well impressed with this emerging 'inland Minsmere'.
Birds included:
Cuckoo 1
Little ringed plover 2
Common tern 4
Hobby 5
Little egret 5
Garden warbler 1
Reed warbler 20+
Yellow wagtail 5
Lesser black-backed gull 20
Lapwing 80
Oystercatcher 6
Redshank 2
Shelduck 2
Jay 1
Green woodpecker 1
Butterflies included painted lady, brimstone and lots of large skippers and meadow browns.
Moths included silver Y, yellowshell, clouded silver and timothy tortrix.
Dragonflies included several black-tailed skimmers plus four-spotted chaser. Hundreds of azure, common blue and blue-tailed damselflies.

Plus an excellent display of wildflowers including large patches of grass vetchling and kidney vetch.

Will certainly be stopping off now know where to park.
