Since the first big snowfall of 2013 we have had a big increase in species and numbers attracted to the feeders in our North Nottinghamshire garden, day on day. With today (10/02/2013) being the best ever in the 25 years we have lived here.

Lesser redpoll - 16

Should have been letter writing today but spent most of the day just looking out of the study window at the feeders. Maybe tomorrow eh! :D :D

Can't really take all the credit for the increased numbers in 2013. As apart from changing the feeding regime a little this year (Niger seed). The increase appears to be mainly down to the horrid weather John.
It's snowing quite heavy here at present and Blackbird numbers have increased today to double figures (11) in the garden. Apart from that and two extra Reed bunting, there's very little change in either numbers or species today.
