A very pleasant day out there , sunny in the morning but windy and cloudy later.

North Cave:
1 Black Necked Grebe ( good views although fairly distant)
3 Whooper Swan
c100 Golden Plover
18 Common Snipe (largest flock I have seen)
4 GC Grebe
6 Little Grebe ( a delight to see one of them in front of the hide under the water, catching fish :)
c200 Greylags
2 White Fronted Geese (they have been there a while)
2 Barnacle Geese
9 Pink Foots (over)
6 Redshank
c50 Lapwing
1 Marsh Harrier (being mobbed by Rook)
c 20 Goldfinch
A few Gadwall, Pochard, Tufted, Coot and Teal

Beacon Hill

1 Goshawk ( first time have seen one reasonably close over head - what a monster of a bird!)

5 Red Kite (splendid views)

1 Sparrowhawk- male (seen twice hunting along the hedgerow where we were sat.)

A brilliant day out!

Mandy (with Max/John)

Is this "predictive birding"?

If so could you please let me know your secret as it would be very useful for the next Tufted Puffin.
