Post subject:  Pinkfeet killed in thunderstorm

A birding friend in Norfolk has told me today of an incident at Holkham on the afternoon of 25 January during a thunderstorm. Over 100 pinkfeet appear to have been hit by a lightning strike, 70 being picked up that day and 30+ the next day, with their eyes 'popped out'.

Has anybody else encountered a similar phenomenon?

John
