Hi All,

I moved to the fen 5 years ago and immediately was amazed at the quantity and variety of wildlife present. I feel however this fact may not be greatly appreciated, I wish therefore to share my excitement of bird sightings with others.
Recently we have had a pair of little egrets visiting, and three short eared owls present. Barn owls can be seen any day of the week hunting along the wide margins of the Billingborough Lode. There are also kingfishers resident on the Lode although I have only seen them 8 times in 5 years.
During the winter we had hundreds of lapwings with equal ammounts of golden plovers mixed in with them.
