Hi, everyone,
I just wanted to introduce myself. I'm a member of neighbouring newsgroup Peterbirder, and of the Peterborough Bird Club, and was prompted to join the LBC forum by fellow Peterbirder Chris Monk - thanks, Chris, for the idea!

I live very near Bourne and get out onto Morton, Haconby or Dunsby Fens most days. I'm also recording in the Langtoft, Baston area at present and frequently call at Thurlby Fen and the reserve at T.F. Slipe.

I'm not sure how the protocol works, on this forum, but will try to post as many observations as I can. January's most exciting bird was a merlin, last week, between Morton and Haconby.

Though very keen on natural history, and a committed bird enthusiast -though not a twitcher - I'm very tied up wth horticulture as a Trustee of the RHS and member of its Council. That takes me away from birding far more than I'd like, so if contributions to this forum are sporadic, please blame other commitments, rather than laziness on my part!

Sorry to have rambled,
Best wishes
Nigel

Thanks for the thanks Nigel. You missed a good turn out (approx. 45) for the Peterborough Bird Club trip to Norfolk last Sunday. I shall keep an eye out for your records on this forum.

Cheers,
Chris
